Introduction to Stained-Glass Art Creation

(7 session x 3 hours)

Step into the captivating world of stained-glass art in this beginner-friendly workshop, focusing on the Tiffany Style Copper Foil Technique. Whether you're drawn to traditional or contemporary styles, this hands-on session will introduce you to the essential tools, materials, and techniques needed to bring your vision to life. By the end of the workshop, you’ll gain a solid foundation in stained-glass art and complete your own stained-glass artwork to take home. Suitable for all skill levels, from hobbyists to aspiring artisans interested in the fundamentals and artistic expression of stained-glass art.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this workshop, learners will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the historical and contemporary applications of stained-glass art.
  2. Work with essential tools and materials, including safe handling and precise cutting.
  3. Assemble a flat glass panel with key techniques in foiling and soldering.
  4. Differentiate between types of glass and suitability for various artistic or functional purposes.
  5. Complete a small stained-glass project.


Our Trainers

 
Felicia Yong

With over 42 years of experience in the stained-glass industry, Felicia Yong has made a lasting impact as an artist, educator, and advocate for community engagement. Her career began at Pegasus Stained Glass Studio, where she honed her skills in design, fabrication, and project management, later leading collaborative efforts to produce custom stained glass works.

In 1995, Felicia founded The Glass Atelier and completed notable projects such as the CHIJ Kellock, CHIJ Hougang, and Old Jurong Bird Park Foyer skylight. She also designed prestigious awards like the NUS Best Researcher Award, showcasing her dedication to precision and artistry.

Felicia's passion for stained glass is matched by her commitment to enriching communities. Over the years, she has shared her experiences through teaching, and conducting workshops in schools, private organisations, and community centres.
