Introduction to Figure Drawing
(8 sessions x 3 hours)The course is designed for learners to develop an ability to represent the human form through drawing with precision, expression, and artistic flair. Through a series of progressive exercises, learners will develop a strong foundation in anatomy, proportion, gesture, and foreshortening with various drawing techniques. Emphasis will also be placed on capturing the essence of movement and understanding the interplay of light and shadow on the body. By the end of the course, learners will have acquired the skills necessary to depict the human form in their artistic pursuits.
This course is open to anyone aged
18 years old and above who is interested to learn figure drawing. Although all is welcome, it is
highly recommended for individuals to have attended basic and intermediate drawing classes at NAFA since drawing figures can be challenging for many.
Please note that there will not be live model drawing sessions at every lesson.Learning Outcomes:At the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Acquire basic techniques for gesture and figure drawing.
- Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy in the drawing process.
- Apply skeleton and landmarks in aid of the drawing process.
- Create expressive poses.
A digital certificate will be issued upon successful course completion, which requires a minimum attendance rate of 75%.
Please note that no replacement classes are offered for missed lessons.
