Floral Embroidery (Level 1)

(4 sessions x 3 hours)

This course aims to introduce basic embroidery techniques in the form of floral and botanical patterns. It is suitable for anyone with or without sewing experience. Through hands-on practice and live demonstrations, learners will learn 10 to 15 types of embroidery techniques. A canvas bag is used as the base for the embroidery designs, and the learners can take it home with them after the course.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this course, learners will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate basic embroidery techniques that serve as a foundation for their future embroidery projects.
  2. Engage the slow art of embroidery to enhance their mental well-being.


Our Trainers

 

Cheryl is an artist who specializes in textiles and craft. She uses vibrant colours and beadwork to make her craft, which is deeply inspired by her Peranakan roots. With a Fashion Design degree from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), she has worked in the design industry since then and has over a decade's worth of experience in apparel design, graphic design, prop production, and visual display styling.

She has worked with global brands like H&M, Triumph, and Casio, as well as the homegrown label hansel. She has worked to marry design and craft. Today, her creativity spans embroidery art, large-scale art installations, display styling and craft workshops. She has also expanded her private workshop offerings to cover more than 20 subjects, including embroidery, sewing, knitting, block-printing, and tufting to sustainable crafts.

We are open from Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays).
