Certificate in Western Abstract Painting (Advanced)

12 sessions x 3 hours (Revamped)

In this course, learners will learn to explore collage as a technique within the context of abstract art, allowing students to discover new ways of combining and juxtaposing materials to create innovative compositions. This module encourages experimentation with texture, form, colour, and layering. It also focuses on the deconstruction of visual elements to create abstract expressions that move beyond traditional painting techniques. Learners will learn how to use collage to push the boundaries of abstraction and explore its relationship with space, depth, and materiality.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of this course, students will be able to:
  • Develop a strong foundation in a variety of artistic techniques and materials.
  • Explore personal themes and develop a distinctive artistic style.
  • Develop professional working practices in the production and presentation of their work.
