Certificate in Oil Painting (Intermediate)
This course is for learners interested in advancing their skills in oil painting. Lessons are structured, with progressive learning outcomes. They will enhance their foundation skills by revisiting basic concepts of line, tone, contour, mass, perspective and colour expression. Learners will be able to build a sound portfolio with in-depth knowledge in oil painting.
Course Prerequisite
For learners who have successfully completed Certificate in Oil Painting (Basic).

Module 1 – Oil Painting I
(8 sessions x 3 hours)
The module begins with a review of the fundamentals through exploring line, tone, colour and mass, strengthening the learners’ observational skill of visual aesthetics. Learners will gain an understanding of saturation and practise effective colour mixing techniques. They will also explore the benefits of a limited colour palette, methods of oil glazing and grisaille underpainting.

Module 2 – Oil Painting II
(8 sessions x 3 hours)
Learners will apply oil painting techniques for landscape compositions. Learners will be encouraged to explore different techniques and styles for painting and compositions. This module aims to broaden the learners’ ability to express themselves through paint and develop their core painting skills.
