Certificate in Digital Video Design

This course is designed for learners seeking to acquire fundamental skills to integrate narrative into Digital Video Design. Learners will be able to evaluate and interpret different styles with the goal of identifying themes and procedures from their ideas. With an understanding of industry needs, learners will be introduced to the application of design software onto the video and motion platform.

Module 1 - Digital Video Graphics
(8 sessions x 3 hours)
This module enables learners to design their media assets in video format. They will gain knowledge and skills to create meaningful moving imagery, from conceptualisation to implementation, by using video editing software. At the end of the module, they will be able to create a short pictorial collage video to promote an event, product or service.

This module provides learners with the opportunity to understand the process of implementing graphics to motion. Through weekly exercises and software applications, learners will conceptualise graphics in a thoughtful and innovative manner and create graphic montages in motion.

Our Trainers

 

Noraswan Mohamed

Noraswan Mohamed has more than 15 years of experience in the creative and media industry. He is highly proficient in current motion graphic design skills and practices, and has an excellent portfolio of up-to-date commercial design work.

He was the Co-Founder/Managing Director of Muse Pte Ltd, which offers across-the-board services to major and leading players in the creative industry, which include TV stations, advertising agencies and government agencies. One of Muse’s latest major projects is a partnership with Media Development Authority (MDA) to produce a 2D animation series, “Geng Anam”, broadcasted on MediaCorp’s Suria Channel, educating children and youth on the history of Singapore.

Having worked as the Operation & Production Manager/Head of Motion Graphic at Muse Pte Ltd for 13 years, Noraswan Mohamed was responsible for managing an operation team of 7, comprising graphic designers, editors, producers and sound engineers (who are a mixed group of highly skilled professionals and fresh graduates). He was also instrumental in managing the needs of the clients which include managing technical and creative resources as well as delivering complete corporate-quality post/productions.



Jaymen Ng

With over 30 years of experience in multimedia design, Jaymen has made a significant impact in the industry since 1993. His impressive portfolio features collaborations with prominent organizations, including MINDEF, the Defence Technology Group, and the Land Transport Authority. He has notably served as a 3D Graphics Designer and Project Manager on major projects at the Singapore Discovery Centre, highlighting his expertise in creative design, video production, and animation.

Since 1997, Jaymen has been passionate about sharing his extensive knowledge with learners of all ages, from primary and secondary students to university undergraduates and adult learners seeking to enhance their skills. His empathetic teaching style fosters strong connections with students, igniting their passion for learning and helping them achieve their aspirations.

Jaymen holds a Master’s degree in Multimedia Arts from the University of Birmingham (formerly BIAD/UCE) and recently completed the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) in 2023, underscoring his commitment to ongoing professional development and excellence in education.
