Art Teaching for Special Needs – Watercolour Painting (Online)

(4 sessions x 3 hours) Online

This course aims to introduce learners to use watercolour painting for work with people with special needs. This course is suitable for teachers and caregivers who are interested in facilitating learning through the arts. Learners will be taught various approaches and techniques to enable those under their care to express themselves through pictorial composition using mark-marking tools. Learners will acquire scaffolding techniques of layer colours, dry brush and lines, hatching and cross-hatching. This enables learners’ clients to enhance memory and motor skills by looking closely at the world around them while fostering mindfulness and positivity through mixing of water and colours.

Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this workshop, learners will be able to:
  1. Understand the breakdown of a pictorial composition that is manageable for special needs clients
  2. Gain knowledge on three watercolour painting approaches to work with special needs  clients
  3. Grow familiar with the medium: watercolour in cake and tube form.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge by planning a project with no more than five - eight steps

A digital certificate will be issued upon successful course completion, which requires a minimum attendance rate of 75%.

Please note that no replacement classes are offered for missed lessons.

Once the course has commenced, no refunds will be issued for any withdrawal requests.

For any enquiries, please contact CLE at Tel: 6512 1388 or email [email protected]
