Winner of the 2005 Young Asian Designer Merit Award, Fadzli specialises in furniture design and lifestyle design. His work has been featured at major exhibitions, notably the CUBE Exhibition at the Tokyo Designer’s Week in 2009 and 30 Chair Lifestories during SingaPlural Week in 2012.
Fadzli brings to NAFA many years of industrial experience, having worked with LUSH as Furniture Designer/Home Stylist and with Air Division as Assistant Designer. Currently, he leads the course in Object and Furniture Design.
His tagline ‘Reality is Beautiful’ reflects on the design process - the ups and downs of designing and creating a prototype. Fadzli strongly believes that good design comes with perseverance, consistency and sensitivity towards form and proportion with the understanding of interesting materials. He is an advocate of authentic learning through partnerships with industries as a strategy to develop students’ professional acumen.
