Wu Yin is currently resident opera director of the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and faculty member of the Opera Research Institute of Peking University. She graduated from the National Conservatory of Rome, Italy, achieving three master's degrees separately in Harp Performance, Arts Administration, and Opera Direction.

In Italy, she has directed operas such as La Traviata, Lucia di Lammermoor, The Medium, Cavalleria Rusticana, Tosca, The Merry Widow, Madama Butterfly, and Un Ballo in Maschera, among others.

Since joining the NCPA in 2018, she has directed operas such as Gianni Schicchi, Visitors on the Snow Mountain (concert version) and revived children's opera Snow White. She was the general director of Flowers to the Party – The Party Centennial Gala, and has participated in productions such as La Fille du Regiment, Die Meistersingern von Nürnberg, Don Giovanni, Aida, Turandot, and more.
