Japanese Pastel Nagomi Art

(4 sessions X 3 hours)

This course equips learners with essential techniques such as blending, reduction and stencilling for conceptualising and painting pastel Nagomi art pieces. Learners will be producing at least 4 art pieces under guided supervision throughout the course. This course is recommended for teachers and professionals or those exploring ways of improving mindfulness and inner peace through art.

Course Content:

Blending and mixing colours
Partial and total reduction techniques
Multi-layer reduction techniques
Stenciliing (standard, custom shapes, single and multiple layers)

At the end of this course, learners will be able to:

Paint basic landscapes and scenery requiring blending of colours.
Paint paintings with more specific shapes with the use of custom stencils.
Conceptualise the steps and stencil layers required when observing a picture or scene they would like to paint.

Our Trainers

Dawn Ng

Dawn Ng is an Advance Instructor in Pastel Nagomi Art certified by the Japan Pastel Hope Art Association. She is also an exhibitor at Love Stories, Singapore’s inaugural Pastel Nagomi Art exhibition in 2019.

Dawn is known to be an inspiration to her students, and some of them have even progressed to become certified Pastel Nagomi Art instructors. Driven by her passion for Pastel Nagomi Art, she regularly conducts public and private workshops and events to help others discover their artistic abilities in artmaking.

Dawn attests to the restorative benefits of Pastel Nagomi Art as it enables painters to practise mindfulness and reduce stress levels.
