Certificate in Design Experience and Interface
This course equips learners with the skills of design evaluation related to enhancing user experience and interface of a service and/or product. Learners will apply access points of low-fidelity design to user interfaces and develop user engagement processes required for gesture-based interfaces. This course is recommended for working professionals who are interested in the design process behind higher standards of user experiences pertaining to their services and products (industries such as banking, logistics or maritime).
Module 1 – Design Experience
(8 sessions x 3 hours)
This module equips learners with the skills to evaluate design processes related to services and products. Using a case study of their choice, learners will observe a specific area of user experience related to a service and/or product before developing recommendations to improve user interaction and experience. Learners will be engaged in user research, identifying key differences between different user personas, developing content strategies and appropriate wireframes, prototyping and usability testing.
Module Content
• Fundamental Principles of UX; Design Thinking
• Core Competencies in UX
• UX Research
• Personas and the Journey Map
• Difficulty Matrix or Prioritisation Grid
Module 2 – Design Interface
(8 sessions x 3 hours)
This module equips learners with the skills of applying access points of low-fidelity design interaction to user interfaces such as designs’ control panels and faces, oral-auditory interaction and wireframe gesture-based interfaces. Learners will develop the process of user engagement with gesture-based interfaces.
