Participants will delve into the unique properties of cardboard through hands-on sessions focused on material understanding and furniture crafting and tap into a realm where creativity aligns with sustainability, equipping them for a design future that values both innovation and eco-friendliness.

• Cardboard, corrugated is best (you can recycle packaging boxes)
• Pen/Pencil/Stationery (for sketching ideas and making prototypes)
• Paper/Sketchbook (for sketching ideas)
• A ruler, metal if possible (for making prototypes - to measure and/or use with penknife
• to cut cardboard/other materials)
• Penknife/box cutter (or scissors if penknife is not available)
• White glue (or wood glue or glue stick, whichever is available)
• Masking tape (or packing/scotch tape)
• Double-sided Sticky tape (for joining cardboard together, if don’t have, can use glue)

The Embracing The Charcoal Dust Workshop introduces students to visual composition through the principles of positive and negative space The workshop encourages students to practice drawing fundamentals with experimental interpretations of the digital space as a theme. The workshop emphasises communication and collaborative work (key 21st Century skills) in pairs/groups to create an artwork.

Items that the students should bring for the workshop:
• Cartridge Drawing Paper (at least A3 size), 1 piece/student.
• 2 pieces of old handkerchief, cloth or rag to be used to dust charcoal dust/student.
• 1 face mask/student.
• To wear an old T-shirt or apron over their school uniform as the charcoal dust will likelyb settle/dirty the clothes.

Designing An Outfit For Occasions |
Outline |
To design a successful fashion collection, it is important to understand the concept of the design process. At the beginning of this workshop, there will be a presentation of the five stages in the design process, from developing a theme to making of the actual garments. Thereafter, participants are invited to design an outfit that they want to wear during a special occasion. This will enable participants to have a hands-on experience of designing an outfit with a theme in mind.

The Actors World |

This workshop aims to introduce participants to the basics of acting. There will be practical exercises and demonstrations to highlight the key training elements of an actor, including improvisation techniques. NAFA is the only institution in Singapore to offer Theatre studies in both English and Mandarin and have produced many outstanding artists on local and international stage, experience the school life that Julie Tan and Joakim Gomez had experienced!
