Safe Management Measures
The well-being and safety of the NAFA community, graduands and guests is the academy’s top priority. We wish to remind all graduands and guests to exercise individual and social responsibility to protect themselves and the community. Please adhere to the following Safe Management Measures:
- With the removal of the legal requirement for mask wearing in indoor settings with effect from 29 August 2022, mask wearing by graduands and guests at the ceremony venue will be optional.
- Monitor your health and self-test using the Antigen Rapid Test (ART) if you are *symptomatic.
- Graduands who prefer to wear a mask during the ceremony, may unmask momentarily when receiving the certificate folder and during photo taking with the presenter, on stage.
- To minimise contact, there will not be any handshake with the presenter on stage.
* The symptoms of COVID-19 infection are similar to that of an acute respiratory infection or pneumonia. These symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, loss of taste or smell.
Registration and Reporting Time
On the day of the convocation ceremony, all graduands must register within the stipulated reporting time at the Studio Theatre (Black Box), NAFA Campus 3 Wing A, Level 3.

Please note that graduands who fail to register by the stipulated reporting time will not be permitted to go on stage to receive their diploma/ specialist diploma/ degree certificate. It is advisable that you report early, in case of long queues at the registration counter.
You are to show your Graduate Admission Card and NAFA Student Card/NRIC/Passport to the registration staff as proof of your identity. Please note that the Graduate Admission Card will be issued to you when you collect your academic gown from Serangoon Broadway.
You have to surrender your NAFA Student Card, if any to the registration staff after your attendance is taken.
Upon successful registration, you will be ushered into the Studio Theatre (Black Box) to put on your academic gown and prepare to queue up according to your pre-assigned seating arrangement.
Please note that you must carry your Graduate Admission Card with you at all times and you are to hand the card to our staff just before you go on stage to receive your Diploma/ Specialist Diploma/ Degree.
Putting on your Academic Gown
Please report early for the ceremony to allow sufficient time to put on your academic gown and hood. Staff from Serangoon Broadway will be present to assist you at the Studio Theatre (Black Box).
Graduands are advised NOT to bring along any valuables with them. NAFA will NOT be held responsible if you lose any of your belongings during the convocation. Please ask your family members or friends to look after your belongings during the ceremony.
Getting Ready for the Ceremony
You are advised to put on your academic gown immediately after registration. After the closing of the registration, you will be queued according to your seat number sequence and will then be led by our ushers to enter the Lee Foundation Theatre for seating in an orderly manner.
Convocation Procedure
A staff will lead you to the side of the stage to queue and get ready for the presentation of your diploma/specialist diploma/degree. Graduands who are masked may unmask momentarily while queuing. When your name is read out, please move to the centre of the stage to receive your certificate folder from the Dean of School or University Vice-Chancellor.
You are to receive your certificate folder with both hands. A photograph will be taken with the Dean of School or University Vice-Chancellor. In view of safe management practices, there will be no handshake during the presentation of the certificate folder. Please bow to the audience before leaving the stage.
You will receive an empty certificate folder on stage. Our ushers will guide you to collect your graduation souvenir before you return to your seat in the Theatre.
Reception
We are pleased to invite you and your guests to a reception after the convocation ceremony. Our ushers will guide you to the reception area after the ceremony.
